Accessibility statement
We want everyone in New Luce to be able to use this website, whatever their age, eyesight, or confidence online.
What we've done
The site is designed to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. You should be able to:
- zoom in up to 400% (or pinch to zoom on a phone) without text spilling off the screen;
- read large, clear text with strong contrast: the main typeface, Atkinson Hyperlegible, was designed for people with low vision;
- use every page and form with a keyboard alone, with a clear outline showing where you are;
- use a screen reader: pages have proper headings, photos are described, and form errors are read out;
- use the site without animations, and on a slow connection or an older phone.
What isn't fully accessible yet
- Scanned documents. Some older documents, including the Articles of Association and most of the annual accounts, are scans of paper copies, so screen readers can't read them. They're marked “Scanned copy” in the document library. We're replacing them with text versions, and each has a page with a summary.
- Older news posts were moved from the old website as they were written. Some photos in them have short descriptions.
- Word forms may not work with every screen reader. Call us and we can fill a form in with you.
Ask for another format
If you need any information in a different format, such as large print, a phone call to talk it through, or a paper copy, call 07442 576 220 or email sharon@newlucect.org. Please also tell us about any problem you have with the site.
About this statement
Prepared in October 2026, when the site was built, from testing with keyboard navigation, automated checks (Lighthouse and axe) and checks at phone, tablet and desktop sizes. We'll review it every year.
