Become a member
It's free, and it gives you a say in how the community's money is spent. The more residents who join, the better the Trust represents New Luce.
60 residents are members: almost one third of the 184 people on the electoral register in the area (as last published).
For the Trust to confirm: Current membership numbers, and whether new members are confirmed by letter or email.
What members can do
- Come to the Annual General Meeting and any other general meetings
- Vote on the same terms as every other member: one member, one vote
- Elect the directors, and stand for the Board yourself
- Get AGM papers and news by email or post
Who can join
Anyone aged 18 or over who:
- normally lives in the New Luce Community Council area,
- is entitled to vote in local council elections for that area, and
- supports the purposes of the Trust.
There's no fee. As a company limited by guarantee, each member's liability is limited to £1.
Prefer paper?
Download a form, fill it in and post or hand it to the Trust. Or call and we'll post one to you.
For the Trust to confirm: Where should paper forms go? The PDF form still shows the old Wigtown registered office. We'd suggest a postal address or a collection box in the village (the October 2025 newsletter mentions boxes at the Post Office and the Village Hall).
