Parking in the village
New parking bays at the Memorial Hall, because the community said parking was its top short-term priority.
In progress since 2024
For the Trust to confirm: Have the bays been marked out? (January 2025: "works have been ordered".)
Parking was rated the highest short-term priority in the consultations for the second Community Action Plan (69% of votes under Transport). The Trust ring-fenced £50,000 in year 1 for the project.
A topographical survey looked at areas around the village and found the most suitable place for extra parking was at the Memorial Hall. Working with the hall committee, which was granted permission by the local authority, the plan is for new marked bays at the side of the hall: two for electric vehicle charging, two for disabled parking and six for other vehicles. The Trust is funding the project.
Until then, please use the parking at the Memorial Hall. Main Street isn't wide and gets congested quickly.
